Community Rallies for
Back-to-School Success
at EDGEfest 2025
Edgewater, FL – July 26, 2025
The City of Edgewater kicked off the school year in style this past Saturday with its annual EDGEfest Back to School Party, a free community event designed to help local students start the year strong. Families flocked to the Southeast Volusia Family YMCA for a morning filled with excitement, giveaways, and plenty of smiles.
The highlight of the event was the generous distribution of free backpacks stuffed with school supplies, ensuring hundreds of students are ready for their first day. But the surprises didn’t stop there—this year, the City of Edgewater gave away over 20 brand-new bicycles, thrilling many lucky kids and their families.
The energy was high as children explored the booths, collected school essentials, and posed for photos with their new gear. Volunteers, sponsors, and city staff worked side by side to make the event seamless and welcoming for all.
Looking Ahead
EDGEfest is more than just a back-to-school event—it’s a year-round tradition that brings the Edgewater community together. Future events in 2025 include the Kids Fishing Derby in September and the Fall Festival in October, both promising more family fun and community spirit.
Thank You to Our Community
The City of Edgewater extends its gratitude to all the sponsors, volunteers, and families who made this event a success.
